Common Ground Community, Inc. (“Common Ground”) is committed to providing assistance to the residents of the Cedar Grove neighborhood in Shreveport, LA. We were incorporated in 2004, although some of the volunteers have been working in the Cedar Grove community for as many as fifteen years. We are a group of everyday, middle class folks who came together to look carefully at our lives and our roles as followers of Jesus. We began to observe how our lives affect those around us, especially our neighbors who are in need. We decided to serve and build lasting relationships with our neighbors who may be hungry or lacking in other basic needs. Though we have friends in many churches, we are not directly connected to any particular church. We are simply a group of believers attempting to be the body of Christ outside the walls of an institutional structure.
